Gov. Braun: Businesses commit to 5,385 new jobs in Indiana in 2026

INDIANAPOLIS — More than 5,000 new job prospects representing a 37% increase in average wages have been announced so far in 2026, Gov. Mike Braun said Monday during a state economic meeting in Indianapolis.

Braun led the third-quarter board meeting of the Indiana Economic Development Corp., where he detailed growth in jobs, wages, and community development.

So far this year, 69 businesses have planned to move to or expand in Indiana, said a news release that the Republican governor’s office issued after the meeting. Those companies have committed to creating 5,385 new jobs with average wages of $41.71 per hour. That rate is 14% higher than the national average, the release said.
